A new Adventure

The reason i wanted to write this post is to tell you why i started writing this blog.
As a family we were coming out of a really hard season. We had just relocated after wanting to move closer to family for a good few years. Finally we had done it! But we still had things kicking of, And the quote "its not about waiting for the storm to pass,but learning to dance in the rain" was really key for me at that point. I knew we would come out of the storm stronger,more together but it was hard at that present moment.
I guess i was trying and still am really to live in the moment and enjoy what i have. Just to be content. Just to be. Most of the days i am but like anyone there's the pj days. I know its a good sign that things are going ok if i haven't spent anytime crying on the kitchen floor. Lol. So what to do with this blog now, I'm not sure. I'm going to keep it i think. The other blog i have just started The Adventures of Bobby and George is a blog more focused on my kids,and my journey in motherhood so i may keep this one just for me. A place where i can write sporadically,whatever,whenever i like. Lets just wait and see..

Ten on Tuesday.

1. I'm currently eating sweet potato wedges for my tea. Hashtagslimmingworldwin.

2.One of the reasons for No. 1 is that i feel rough as a badgers backside today. Do you ever get days where you cant shake the slight head ache, nauseous,dreaming of bedtime kinda days?! And before you ask im not preggo.

3.The other reason for No.1 is that i had a cheese, ham and leek pasty,a packet of McCoys and a slice of chocolate cake for my lunch. Hashtagslimmingworldfail.


4.Me and my G.P. are fast becoming bezzies. This does worry me slightly,think i need to put myself out there and network some more friends over here!

5.I'm a firm believer in putting flowers in the shopping budget. I love having fresh flowers in the house,They make me smile.I picked up this bunch for a bargainous £2 and they lasted nearly 2 weeks..

6.I think i may be addicted to sweet chilli sauce.


7.Does anyone else think they should be seat belts on buses? Sitting at the back of the bus today(you can see the whole world from the back of the bus according to Mr 3.Lush.) for the first time in a while,and i was being swung around everywhere. Despite the choppy conditions me and Mr 3 did enjoy our bus adventure.

8.How absolutely gorgeous is this photo of Mr 1?

9.I follow a blog by a lady in Australia called Seven Cherubs,a friend of hers sadly lost her son a few months ago and her husband suddenly a few days ago.Utterly tragic.She set up a giving page for the blogging community to donate to help the family. Last time i looked she'd raised £20,000 for the family.This restores my faith in man kind.It helps me believes that people are good. Love it. Check out her blog-Seven Cherubs



10.We had a Birthday dinner for my brother at ours last week (this is becoming a bit of a tradition!).It reminded me of how much i love living near my family. My family mean the world to me. And i know how lucky i am to have them and that we all get on so well(as well as family's do like! i hold no illusions). I hope my Children will get on as well as i do with my siblings.I count myself so lucky and privileged to have them. My brother is 24. And you would be hard pressed to find a finer man than him. He's one of these people who when he puts his mind to something,he achieves it.He's so ambitious. He's slightly wild. A total family Man. Loyal. I know he would lay his life down for me or my family. He has this determination which only comes from past adversity.I feel totally accepted by him.And maaan is he gorgeous. I'm so proud that he's my brother.

Im always creasing up at some of the wisdom Mr 4 comes out with so thought i'd share a few for my 10.

1.He asked me on Saturday,"Mom what are these balls on my foot? Ankles? What are ankles? Why are they hard and round?"

2. Whats in our skin?


3.How did George like it in your tummy?


4.Why has Daddy got spiders on his tummy and up his nose?


 5.When George was born he was totally mystified why he didnt have any teeth.He would ask me again and again why not!


6."Too big for me and beyond!!!" used to be a popular phrase when he first got into Toy Story.


7.He said to me the other day while carrying a cup of juice"Mom,im a bit spillish arnt i?"


8.Apparently on Disney junior (said in a very slow whisper) 'the magic never ends'.


9.He refuses to call chicken pox,chicken pox. So far we've had chicken pops and chicken cox.Lol.


10.Last but not least.My personal favourite. "Mom.Did you buy your boobies?"

Ten on Tuesday.

So after a slight absence due to sickness bug, Christmas, birthday and new year shenanigans here we are again...Hope i can remember how to do this..


1.I just caught Mr 4(yes he is 4 now!) with his hand actually inside the Christmas cake.Yes inside.Saying he wanted 'just 1 raisin mummy'.Oh well if its just 1 raisin your after,that must make it OK.No one tell grandma please..


2.Mr 4's birthday is 3 days after Christmas,i know,poor lad.It is however kinda his fault.He was due on the 18th but was 10 days late.10 days!! My other boy was 12 days late.My womb is obviously the place to be.Warm. cosy. Obviously they were both too comfy to come out.Or it could be that their boys,and i once heard someone suggest boys are a little lazy.Just a little.Just saying.

3.So Christmas..The prize for the best Christmas card goes to Jessica my OH's cousin.This is what she wrote..

Hope you can read it,Its too cute.I'm very and totally happy with my 2 boys,but one day if i were to have a daughter,I'd like one like Jess Please.Thank you.

4.For Christmas i received just what i wanted and after lots of hints to the hubster he bought me this..

Rules to live by.Its now hanging on my kitchen wall and i absolutely love it!

5.We have this game in our family called 'Ditches'.I may have mentioned it before.Basically my OH piles all the couch cushions on the floor with all the blankets and throws the kids on it.Hang on before you phone social services,As far as i can tell its pretty safe.No-ones had any accidents (yet) and the kids proper love it. i went in the lounge mid game last week to find the baby climbing right up to the top of this tower like climbing thing,i quickly picked him up and Mr 4 said to me "don't worry mummy,he'll just bounce off the floor if he falls off, like he did a minute ago" I tell you Mr 1 is made of strong stuff! He's rock solid.He's a pic so you get the idea..

6.As i mentioned it was Mr 4's birthday last week.We like birthdays in this house,but I'd like all the celebrations spread out a bit ideally.Christmas, then 3 days later Mr 4's birthday,the day after that my nephew's birthday.Its all a bit much for me tbh.I'm getting old..

7.I have LOVED the Christmas telly. I'm a bit of a telly addict and this yule time i have well and truly fed my addiction.Dowton,TOWIE,Christmas crackers,Just Henry and great expectations.Need i say more.


8.Loving Eastenders at the moe. Whats with that horrible Branning brother tho?!


9.Is anyone else totally over winter time? bring on the spring i say, For the first time we have a garden and I'm desperate to get out there.To open up those french doors,eat outside, G&T outside.So excited.And its only the 3rd Jan.Come on March.You cant come soon enough.


10.On the subject of spring.Look what i picked up at Aldi. £1.60.Bargainous.

Ten on Tuesday.

1. Sometimes i would like Driver Dan to drive off a cliff.

2.There has been a little (much awaited in our house) snow these past couple of days,how cute is this photo of my 2 watching it today.It is snowing i promise!

3. However I am not enjoying the practically Arctic temperatures that go with the snow.

4. Me and the kids were in the doctors the other day,And as we sat in the waiting area a man came to sit down too.To which Mr 3 exclaimed (REALLY loudly) 'Mom.I don't want that man to sit next to me'.The man took the hint and sat far far away from us.

5.As i went to pick up Mr 3 from Sunday school this week,his teacher mentioned to me that when they'd been playing sleeping lions he'd fallen asleep.Bless him.Who wouldn't tho? Opportunity to have a cheeky nap.Taken.


6.Mr 3 is not keen on girls.I'm hoping this has to do with his age.. I heard him say the other day to his dad that when he gets married he wants to marry George.My OH said he couldn't really marry his brother.But Mr 3 said he'd have to as he really didn't want anything to do with a girl!

7.On Sunday Mr 3 is a king in our church nativity.Not just any king but the CHIEF king.Who brings gold to Jesus! He is soo proud of this,Tells everyone he's the CHIEF King.

8.On Tuesday in his school nativity he is a.. wait for it.. Bird!Oh How the mighty have fallen.


9.When Mr 1 and me go and do the food shop,he loves going in the trolley. This is his favourite position...

I'm not going to lie, ladies of a certain age seem to find it distressing.However he's not doing this because he's stuck and cant get up,He actually likes it.So ladies..Deal with it.

Ten on Tuesday.

1.Me and the OH are actually addicted to I'm a celebrity.We haven't missed a show yet (due to sky+ were not that sad).I'm sure after the final i will go into a sort of grieving period for a day.Love it.


2.I'm not sure who's boobs are bigger Jessica J's or Willie Carsons. Quoted from my OH last night.

3.While we're on the boob issue,how do the girls who are on IAC actually stand up?They are so so tiny and have the most humongous boobs! They look like they should be doubled over.Seriously girls.

4.On Friday i sent Mr 3 to school in his uniform.On non uniform day.The shame of it.Poor lad.Thank goodness he's only 3.Thankfully he didn't seem to notice too much.

5.Last weekend my OH's dad and step mum came to stay,Mr 3 was so excited.And so was i.My (step) mother in law is like my life coach.She's a pretty remarkable woman and i would like to be her when i grow up.Thankyou.Please.

6.My OH's family have this tradition where they watch a film called Bernard and the genie every Christmas.Unfortunately i missed the annual viewing on Saturday as i was in costa. Genuinely gutted..


7.On Friday when i went to pick up Mr 3 from school, his teacher presented me with a large gift bag.Inside it contained something very precious..A travelling crib.12 pieces.Complete with Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus. We had to unpack it,light a candle,sing a little song and think about the true meaning of Christmas.It was really cute.And i think necessary in this day and age.The song wasn't so cute as the enclosed cd wasn't actually enclosed so we sort of ad libbed and that was interesting.Then the next morning we packed it up and took it back to nursery to go to someone else's house for the next night. Here's a photo with an illuminous snowman too.

8.I have a full set of grandparents.A grandma and a grandad. Who i now live round the corner from. My grandma is a baker and a knitter and my grandad is a maker of fantastic bacon sandwiches and he tells the best stories,he knows everything..When i was younger I'd ring him with all sorts of random homework questions.I think the world of them. And they do me. I consider myself extremely lucky to have them.

9.I had a knitting lesson today off my grandma,so far its going well!


10.When Mr 3 was really sleepy last night i said to him "i really really love you" to which he replied "Good".

Ten on Tuesday.

Ten on Tuesday.. 

1.My 3 year old is currently doing my head in.I mean i love him, of course i do.I adore him.But some days he actually drives me insane. Give me a naughty child over a whingey one any day.Please tell me I'm not alone! Anyway mustn't dwell on Mr 3's naughtiness any more as his grannie/grandma will read this and you know how granparents view their grandchildren.Butter wouldn't melt and all that..


2.Never let a 3 year old put a stock cube in your beef bourguignon.Ever.Ever ever.From my experience even tho you try and teach them to crumble it in,it literally ends up ALL over the kitchen.Mental note-even tho he's badgering you to do it,its easier to put up with a tantrum than be cleaning beef oxo cubes off the kitchen floor.


3.Power cut in Morrison's today. Everyone got ushered out.It was very exciting for us(Me,Mr 1 and Mr 3) and the rest of the pensioners there.All the lights went off and everything.Very exciting.


4.We got a new (to us) couch yesterday.Its well nice,very Laura Ashley.Bargain price of £60!Bit of bartering,delivered same day.Made up.


5.At the same place that we picked up our bargainous couch we got a nest of glass topped tables(not sure if that's the technical term.Lol) for £8.Yes £8.Ive been looking for a little nest of tables for a while and not seen any for less that £45.And that was at 'The Range'. Shocking, I know.So i cleaned the tables up,washed the glass,bobbed down to B&Q, chose a few wallpaper 'samples',chopped up the 'samples',stuck on top of tables,Added Glass to top of table and Bobs your uncle and Fannys your Aunt.They look Boss!


6.Because of the afor mentioned tables,I'm finding it hard not to get too carried away thinking i have an amazing creative side which Ive not discovered till now and just take baby steps in my new creative journey!

7.What is it about M&S that make your kids wanna make a HUGE scene.Now i hate to make a scene.Hate it.Especially when its a quiet place,with snotty people and a toddler.Hate it. Its making me cringe now thinking of it.I popped into our local store last week to pick up a Christmas food order booklet(we are having Christmas at ours this year(!) for 10..) and it was a total mare. The Quinny was playing up,The 3 year old was playing up,and The baby was playing up.Not good. I'm just a mum,I'm not trained in spooks style negotiation skills which are needed to prize Mr 3 from the toy section. It was a total nightmare.


8.Me and my OH are really into the west wing atm. Were on season 3 so far .Love it. However there is one thing that really worries me about it. Sometimes it gets really emotional.There's some big things going on in that west wing i can tell you.And i don't understand why at the end of an episode when someone has had a particularly bad day no one gives them a hug.No one. Not one person.Times when someone is in tears and they just need a hug. I'm not going to lie, it does distress me slightly. Its times like these that i realise i may have a little too much emotion going on..


9. We had plans tonight but they've just been cancelled.Huzzah! I'm not a fan of going out of an evening,once the kids are in bed and its dark outside,unless its something really exciting I'm rather reluctant to venture out.

10.My in laws are coming to stay this weekend and Mr 3 is beside himself with excitement,we all are tbh but him especially.We love them alot and they live 4 hours away so we cant wait to see them.Mr 3 keeps asking me questions about it such as ' how many sleeps till they get here?' and 'are they sleeping?' Bring on the weekend!

Two little boys...

These two little boys are cousins.My boy and my sister's boy.And believe it or not they were born 16 hours apart.Mine on the 28.12.2007 and My sister's on 29.12.2007.Now that was an interesting xmas..

                      They have such a special relationship.Almost like brothers.

 

Believe me its not all plain sailing..They fight like cat and dog.But i think that's where the Brother thing comes in.

When it comes too it i know they are thick as thieves. And come on,how absolutely gorgeous are they!?!
